Transport Manager Job Description

We are seeking a Transport Manager to oversee operations at our customer site in Eggborough, Goole. In this role, you will ensure the timely and safe dispatch of drivers within a busy transport operation.

Pay, Benefits, and More:

Salary up to £40,000 per annum, plus 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) with options to purchase additional days. Benefits include high street discounts, a salary sacrifice car scheme, cycle to work scheme, workplace pension, and other perks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the transport operation, demonstrating core values
• Ensure legal compliance and efficient execution of transport operations, meeting SLA's/KPI's
• Gather and review transport feedback through ‘Plan, Do, Review’ and daily meetings
• Maintain driver and fleet legal compliance per Operator Licensing standards
• Manage operator license requirements with support from CPC qualified colleagues
• Promote sharing of ideas and best practices within the team, including gainshare initiatives
• Monitor operational costs and trends, such as fuel and accidents
• Drive operational projects and initiatives collaboratively with the contract CI manager
• Work with the QHSE Manager to improve safety and health performance
• Ensure adherence to processes and procedures for a safe and efficient environment
• Lead and develop the transport team, setting objectives and encouraging open communication
• Manage ER cases in collaboration with HR, ensuring timely resolution

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience managing large, fast-paced transport operations
• Strong leadership and team-building skills
• Knowledge of Road Transport Regulations, Health & Safety, fleet compliance, RTD & WTD directives
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and decision-making ability
• Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations professionally
• International and National CPC certification
• IOSH certification
