We’re currently recruiting for a Transport Supervisor to be based at our site in Barnsley. As part of this busy transport operation, you’ll ensure the timely and safe dispatch of drivers across the Monday to Friday - 1pm - 9:30pm shifts. Organising routes and coordinating with a team of drivers and vehicles.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £33,014.21 per annum.. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Be responsible for the running of the site transport operation, whilst leading a team of drivers
• Ensuring drivers are briefed and depart in a timely manner.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and suppliers on a daily basis to help resolve daily queries.
• Be a single point of contact for all drivers whilst they are on the road.
• Track logistics KPI's metrics and report back to the Contract & Logistics management team.
• Maintenance - Dealing with Maintenance and Service Schedules for a fleet of HGV vehicles, Tractor units and trailers.
• Investigations/Disciplinaries - Dealing with Vehicle investigations and also doing site Investigations/Disciplinaries .
• Site QHSE - Involvement in Scorecard activities which contribute to site monitoring and QHSE goals.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

• Essential: It’s important you have exposure of working in a fast-paced environment – no two days will be the same and we need you to think on your feet
• Essential: previous experience working in a complex transport environment ideally within a supervisory or step up capacity.
• Essential: Good admin experience and organisational skills preferably in a transport environment
• Essential: Experience with HGV vehicles and Maintenance schedules
• Essential: Customer service Experience and presentability as you will be based on the customers site.
• Desirable: Management CPC holder
• Desirable: Experience in a Team Leader or Supervision role
• Desirable: Experience with the following systems; Paragon, Masterpack, WTS, Sphere or any other PoD or planning systems.
