Job Title: Transport Planner

Salary: Up to £38,000

Role: Permanent

My client, an award-winning, multi-million-pound turnover business with sites across the UK, is looking for an experienced Transport Planner, Fleet Scheduler, or Transport Manager to join their successful fleet services team.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join their established team, where you will lead, manage, motivate, and engage the team to ensure adherence to external standards, company policy, and bulk fleet operating procedures.

The successful candidate will have a passion for service and the ability to work under pressure to achieve results. They will actively promote collaboration within all sections of the business, delivering a ‘one team’ approach.

About You:

• Excellent working knowledge of transport legislation (WTF/Drivers hours, etc.)
• Understanding of the bulk transport business model – workflows, profitability, and purpose.
• Able to manage, motivate, and engage team members to deliver desired results and behaviors.
• Ability to work on own initiative, make decisions, and manage workload.
• Evidence of developing effective working relationships internally and externally.
• Highly organized with attention to detail and experience working to tight deadlines.
• Good time management with effective prioritization.
• Collaborative working style to deliver the best outcomes across departments.
• Fleet management: responsible for income, driver performance, staff, and vehicles at your location.
• Health & Safety: promote and adhere to health & safety protocols.
• Legislation: stay updated on regulations and transport laws to ensure compliance.
• Align team members with company values.
• Develop a ‘one team’ culture through staff and driver engagement.
• Collaborate with the forwarding team to ensure excellent service levels.
• Recruitment and Management: manage driver performance, conduct 1-2-1’s, and personal development meetings; manage recruitment and replacements.
• Manage the scheduling team for effective role/task allocation.
• Maintenance: maintain vehicle profitability and accurate driver records for reporting.
