Excellent opportunity for an experienced Transport Manager to join our haulage division, Churchill Freight Services Ltd.
This is a pivotal and leading position within the company which will report to the Managing Director. The role's purpose is to oversee the cost-efficient operation of the business, uphold operating licensing obligations, manage the fleet, ensure legal compliance including tachographs and drivers' hours, manage information systems, and lead the team. The role is full-time and based at our Chichester offices at Chichester Food Park.
You should be an experienced Transport Manager with a valid Certificate of Professional Competence and relevant industry experience. You must demonstrate industry knowledge, ability to maintain our Operator's License, problem-solving skills, organizational abilities, and competence in transport management software and information systems.
Travel may be required to other sites, attend company events, and investigations, which requires a valid driver's license.
Churchill Freight Services Ltd is part of the Bartholomews Group, serving as the haulage division within our agricultural supply and services business. Our main depot is located at Merston, Chichester, with additional bases at Eastleigh, Blandford, and Shoreham. Our fleet comprises over 50 vehicles, including vans, bulk artics, curtain-siders, trailers, and Rigid vehicles.
Our Agrifood division offers agricultural services and supplies to the farming community, with Churchill Freight as our transport link. Bartholomews markets grain, supplies seeds, fertilizers, crop protection, livestock, and game feeds, and provides on-farm advice, supported by ongoing research and crop trials.
