At NEDDC we are dedicated to delivering a high performing Transport Service. We pride ourselves on our commitment to efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transport Manager to join our friendly and hard working team.
As Transport Manager, you will be responsible for transport operations across the Council, leading operational management responsibility for the Council (AEDM) vehicle testing station, workshop and vehicles including budget management and programming work activities.
Ensuring compliance with Commercial fleet operators licence and road haulage and health and safety is key to this post.
We are seeking a proactive and pragmatic leader, who is keen to drive continuous improvement and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategy to increase MOT testing customers
- Manage working relationships to ensure high performing service delivery.
- Monitor and report on key performance data relating to inspections, accidents and general repairs
- Lead and develop the team to achieve their potential
- Comply with all elements of the road haulage licence
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and health & safety standards.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and cost savings in fleet and depot operations
About You
- Proven experience in Transport management.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to analyse data and produce clear, actionable reports.
- Passion for sustainability and the environment
