Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Head of Health & Safety for the Group Transport business unit, providing strategic leadership and safeguarding a strong safety culture across the UK.

You will guide QSHE professionals, drive governance, and embed QHSE standards across sites while partnering with senior leaders to mitigate risks. The role requires NEBOSH IOSH qualifications, a UK driving license, and 5–7 years in a similar role, with UK travel and occasional unsociable hours.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma (Level 6) or IOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and IOSH membership required.
• Full UK Driving License with ability to travel by sea, air, rail and tunnel.
• Willingness to work unsociable hours and overnight stays when required.
• 5 to 7 years' experience within a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Support the QHSE Director with strategies and initiatives to manage business risks.
• Ensure all sites use GXO electronic systems for reporting, recording and investigation of all relevant activities.
• Collaborate with the QHSE Leadership team, Business Unit Directors and regional EHS Managers to share best practices.
• Develop Business Unit QHSE Objectives and monitor via a MAP.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 45001/14001/9001 and maintain audit readiness.
