Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Burton-on-Trent is seeking a Transport First Line Manager to lead a team of drivers, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient transport operations across the network.

You will play a key role in driving performance, developing colleagues, and delivering excellent service in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change daily.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport/logistics/operational environment.
• Understanding of transport compliance including Drivers' Hours and Working Time Regulations.
• Experience leading, coaching, and developing colleagues.
• Ability to use reports and data to support decision making.
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support, and coach drivers to achieve safety, service, and performance targets.
• Monitor driver and fleet performance and implement improvements.
• Manage daily resource planning including driver allocation and absence management.
• Conduct team briefings, performance reviews, and shift handovers.
• Carry out compliance, yard, and operational checks to support safe transport activities.

Shift patterns: Monday - Friday 06:00 - 14:00
Location: Burton-on-Trent, DE14 1PT

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Leading, supporting, and coaching drivers to achieve safety, service, and performance targets
• Monitoring driver and fleet performance, addressing issues and implementing improvement actions where required
• Managing daily resource planning, including driver allocation, absence management, and operational changes
• Conducting team briefings, performance reviews, and shift handovers to ensure clear communication across the operation
• Carrying out compliance, yard, and operational checks to support safe and efficient transport activities

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Have experience working within a transport, logistics, or operational environment
• Have a good understanding of transport compliance, including Drivers' Hours and Working Time Regulations
• Enjoy leading, coaching, and developing colleagues to achieve shared goals
• Are confident using operational systems, reports, and data to support decision making and performance management
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change and no two days are the same
