Job summary

Vanta Staffing are recruiting a Transport Dispatcher in Thame to join a busy transport and logistics operation. The role involves coordinating drivers and vehicles, monitoring deliveries and collections, and ensuring schedules run smoothly.

It is a hands-on dispatch position, not a supervisory role, with 4-on-4-off shifts and 12-hour day or night shifts. The successful candidate will need previous experience in transport or logistics, strong organisational skills, and good communication with

Qualifications

• Experience in transport, logistics or delivery coordination is desirable.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Confident communicating with drivers, customers and colleagues.
• Good computer skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily transport and delivery schedules.
• Allocate jobs, deliveries and collections to drivers and vehicles.
• Communicate with drivers throughout the shift with instructions and updates.
• Monitor vehicle movements and deliveries to keep schedules on track.
• Liaise with customers, warehouse teams, depots and other departments.
• Respond to delays or route changes and escalate issues as needed.
• Ensure drivers have correct delivery paperwork and instructions.
• Maintain transport records, spreadsheets and system updates.
• Track outstanding deliveries and collections and communicate changes.
• Assist with route planning and scheduling adjustments.
