Job summary

Gap Personnel is recruiting a Transport Assistant for SY13, working Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm, at a rate of £17.18 per hour. The role supports the Sales & Transport department to ensure timely delivery of products to customers and reports to the Sales Manager.

The main duties include generating daily sales plans, taking orders, updating stock and despatch data, logging invoices, arranging transport with drivers and hauliers, and producing reports in Niche.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in sales or transport.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Problem solving abilities.
• Flexible on hours worked.
• Organised with good timekeeping.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Generate and maintain daily sales plans.
• Collate actual weights daily by grower into the sales master sheet.
• Take customer orders
• Update frozen stock sheets
• Log despatch note data
• Print invoices from Niche and check invoices against the sales book
• Check stocks at end of day and advise customers of shortages
• Run reports from Niche
• Arrange transport using own drivers and third-party hauliers for cost-effective deliveries
• Communicate sales and transport issues to relevant teams
• Develop and maintain spreadsheets within the sales and transport department.
