Job summary

XPO Logistics in Ketton is hiring a Transport Coordinator to support the depot’s transport operations and meet customer needs. The role involves dispatching routes, planning changes, and ensuring timely deliveries within contractual requirements.

You will work Monday to Friday with some flexibility, using YMS, Sphere and WTS systems. The ideal candidate has experience in transport/logistics, strong problem-solving and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport/logistics organisations.
• Ability to handle conflicting priorities in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Creative approach to solving problems.
• Good knowledge of the UK geographical area.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements.
• Understanding of team roles in operations.
• Experience managing multiple priorities and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch routes to meet contractual delivery times and handle live plan changes.
• Carry out administrative traffic duties accurately and professionally.
• Escalate vehicle accidents to line management.
• Record defected vehicles on traffic sheets.
• Follow procedures for damaged deliveries.
• Use IT systems (YMS, Sphere, WTS) for delivery operations.
• Communicate with internal and external customers effectively.
• Ensure traffic planning complies with legislation and safety standards.
• Highlight health & safety concerns to management.
• Conduct QHSE activities (Care Cards, Bsafe, Safety Conversations).
• Identify potential improvement opportunities.
• Manage on-site third-party contractors, agency, and maintenance providers.
• Plan resources for agency drivers.
• Perform end-of-day checks and secure keys.
• Enter timesheet data into Payroll spreadsheet.
