Job summary

XPO Logistics is hiring a Night Transport Coordinator for our Widnes site. The role is full-time and permanent, working nights from 9pm to 6am, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility to cover holidays.

You will coordinate drivers, vehicles, and subcontractors, manage load details, and handle day-to-day transport tasks. The successful candidate will have experience in transport or logistics administration, strong organisational and communication skills, and be comfortable using SHARP and Paragon

Qualifications

• Experience in a transport, logistics, or distribution office environment (preferred but not essential).
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Confident using transport systems and Microsoft Office (training provided where needed).
• Good communication skills with drivers, subcontractors, customers, and internal teams.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn wider transport and supervisory duties.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet daily deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Allocate drivers, vehicles, and subcontractors to loads once the Paragon plan is issued.
• Calculate subcontractor rates and issue load details via email.
• Plan and coordinate backhauls where required.
• De-brief drivers in SHARP daily.
• De-brief subcontractor loads in SHARP once PODs are received.
• De-brief night trunk operations daily.
• Maintain and work through POD backlogs where applicable.
• Keep the POD log up to date and chase outstanding PODs.
• Check subcontractor PODs weekly and notify relevant stakeholders for PO raising.
• Deal with customer delivery queries as they arise.
• Carry out general office administration including filing, scanning, and document control.
