Job summary

Yolk Recruitment is supporting an established manufacturing organisation with the recruitment of a Transport Coordinator to join their growing team on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract that is highly likely to go permanent if you are performing well.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within Transport Administration or Logistics Administration.
• Excellent customer service and professional telephone manner.
• Strong administration and organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a busy environment with changing priorities.
• Proactive problem-solving and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating customer service requirements relating to the Transport department and ensuring customers receive accurate and timely information regarding their deliveries.
• Completing daily customer delivery confirmations, ensuring deliveries are still required and identifying any site restrictions.
• Responding to customer Transport enquiries via telephone and email, providing a professional and efficient service.
• Coordinating customer enquiries relating to estimated delivery times (ETAs) and Proof of Delivery (POD).
• Liaising with external hauliers daily regarding deliveries, ETAs and any issues or changes.
• Coordinating redeliveries where customer orders have been turned away for reasons.
• Ensuring appropriate storage charges are applied to delayed customer orders.
• Monitoring the yard list weekly to ensure swift deliveries.
• Working with Transport Planning to meet customer requirements.
• Liaising with the Aftercare team when required.
• Maintaining accurate customer, order and delivery information across internal systems.
• Providing wider administrative support to Transport and Customer Experience teams.
