Job summary

XPO Logistics is seeking a Transport Coordinator to join our Thurrock contract on a permanent night shift pattern (4 on/4 off). You will coordinate transport operations, brief drivers, and manage customer KPIs to keep stock flowing and costs under control.

With a focus on compliance and timely communication with drivers and stakeholders, you will support continuous improvement and ensure efficient use of customer vehicles and subcontractors while meeting customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Experience working in fast-paced transport environments.
• Excellent communication with multiple stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work for our customer and pre-brief drivers at the Start of shift.
• Coordinate the transport operations on site to meet customer and company expectations.
• Liaise with line management to use customer vehicles/subcontractors efficiently and minimise cost impact.
• Daily report of customer KPIs and volume calculations.
• Execute customer plans and adjust to prevent stockouts.
• Ensure drivers comply with working time directives and incidents are logged and communicated promptly.
• Be the first point of contact for the driver workforce.

Here at XPO, we take our people seriously. We’re looking for a talented Transport Coordinator to join us on a permanent basis, working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern covering the Night shift.This is for our contract based in Thurrock.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £34,000 plus a night shift allowance of £2,400 per annum.

What You’ll Do On a Typical Day

• Prepare work for our customer and pre-brief drivers at the Start of shift
• Co-ordinate the transport operations on site to meet both customer and company expectations
• Liaise with line management to ensure the effective use of Customer vehicles / subcontractors minimising the cost impact to the business
• Daily Report of customer KPIs and volume calculations
• Execute customers plan and make changes where necessary to limit stock outs
• Ensure that all drivers are compliant with the working time directive regulations and that any accidents/incidents are logged and communicated to management and customer in a timely manner
• First line of communication for the driver workforce.

What You Need To Succeed At XPO

• A good understanding of fast-paced transport teams
• Excellent communication skills – you’ll be speaking regularly with various stakeholders.
• Good understanding of Microsoft packages including Excel and Outlook
