The Transport Co-Ordinator post is a crucial role for maintaining patient flow out of the hospital, enabling timely patient discharge and ambulance turnaround. Based in the Discharge Lounge, the coordinator works closely with partner organisations, wards, and Site Matrons to ensure eligible patients are booked with transport providers promptly, and manages delays from wards or providers.

The post holder must maintain confidentiality and adopt a positive attitude towards staff, patients, and relatives at all times.

The role involves effective communication with hospital wards and departments via telephone and electronic booking systems, developing professional relationships with transport providers, and demonstrating confidence and professionalism.
