Job summary

Belfast-based Transport Coordinator role with Barker Ross. 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri, permanent. Salary £30,000–£35,000 depending on experience, with duties spanning KPI preparation, DG documentation, and UK import coordination.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months experience in groupage shipping transport.
• Experience with Dangerous Goods documentation is a plus.
• Knowledge of exports and customs procedures is beneficial.
• Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Good computer literacy.
• Proactive and customer-focused.
• Strong teamwork and planning skills.
• Full clean driving license required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare KPI reports.
• Scan Proof of Delivery.
• Prepare export documents and DGNs for forwarding to shipping lines.
• Plan and control UK import activities using the Azyra freight system.
• Maintain costed and invoiced files for exports, deliveries or releases.
• Provide transport companies with information to meet collection/delivery requirements.
• Develop relationships with key customers and understand their shipping needs.
• Identify and escalate issues affecting deadlines to the manager.
• Promote and maintain image, procedures and standards as set with management.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of logistics documentation.
• Update internal systems to support movement of goods.
• Perform ad hoc duties as requested by manager.

Transport Coordinator

Belfast Based | Monday - Friday Permanent | 40 hrs per week

£30,000 - £35,0000 depending on experience

Leading Global provider of Logistics & Shipping Service is headquartered in Dublin with offices and logistics centres across the island of Ireland, United Kingdom, Mainland Europe and Asia (Belfast office)

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Preparation of Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
• Proof of Delivery scanning.
• Preparation of Export Documentation and final manifests-including Dangerous Goods Notifications (DGNs) for onforwarding to shipping lines.
• Plan, direct and control all UK import activities on a day-to-day basis, including booking onto the Azyra freight system, obtaining all paperwork to meet customs requirements and ensure customers transit times are met.
• Maintain all files ensuring they are costed and invoiced prior to export, delivery or release.
• Provide transport companies with the relevant information to ensure customer collection / delivery requirements are met.
• Develop constructive relationships with key customers, understanding the clients' business and meeting their shipping needs.
• Identify and provide early warning to the manager on any issues and problems that could have an adverse effect on deadlines.
• Promote and maintain image, procedures and standards as set and with management.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of logistics documentation.
• Maintain and update internal systems to support the movement of goods.
• Action other ad hoc duties as requested by manager.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 12 months experience in groupage shipping transport environment is preferable.
• Experience in the completion of Dangerous Goods Documentation and experience of dealing with Hazardous Consignments would be of benefit but not essential.
• Good knowledge and experience of exports and customs procedures would be beneficial but not essential.
• Able to work toward and meet deadlines.
• Computer literate.
• Possess team player qualities.
• Ability to plan.
• A proactive attitude.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• A full clean driving license and own transport essential.

Salary

Salary: £30-35k depending on experience
