Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting for a Transport Admin on a permanent night shift in Stoke-on-Trent. You will support the overnight transport operation, ensuring routes and deliveries are documented, and drivers receive timely information to keep schedules on track.

Ideal candidates will have strong admin and communication skills, good data-entry abilities and attention to detail. Previous transport or admin experience is helpful, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are key.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, organise and issue driver packs to document routes and deliveries.
• Conduct driver pre-briefs and debriefs to communicate important information.
• Complete transport administration including data entry and record-keeping.
• Handle a high volume of telephone calls to support drivers and colleagues.
• Provide general support to the night transport team to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Follow health and safety procedures and maintain high compliance standards.

Transport Admin - Night Shift

Location: Stoke-on-Trent, ST4

Salary: £28,325 per annum, including night premium

Working Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 22:00-06:00

The Role

The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a Transport Admin to join our client's night transport operation at their site in Stoke-on-Trent. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong administration and communication skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced logistics environment.

You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of overnight transport operations, supporting drivers and helping to keep deliveries organised, accurate and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing, organising and issuing driver packs to ensure routes and delivery requirements are fully documented.
• Conducting driver pre-briefs and debriefs to communicate important information and maintain operational accuracy.
• Completing transport administration, including data entry and maintaining accurate records.
• Handling a high volume of telephone calls to support drivers, colleagues and the wider transport operation.
• Providing general support to the night transport team to ensure the smooth running of daily activities.
• Following health and safety procedures and maintaining high standards of compliance.

Shift Pattern

The usual working hours are Sunday to Thursday, 22:00-06:00. Due to customer requirements over the Christmas period, two Fridays will also be required, with a weekday off provided in lieu.
