Job summary

Pertemps Stoke is looking for a Transport Admin Clerk to join the client site in Newcastle-under-Lyme. You will support the Transport and Logistics team, handle day-to-day office tasks and communicate with drivers, customers and internal departments.

The role is temp to perm with hours 05:00–17:00 on a 4-on/4-off pattern. Pay is £13.53 per hour on days and £14.89 per hour on nights, with exposure to transport documentation and data systems.

Qualifications

• General administrative responsibilities in transport and logistics environments.
• Strong IT literacy with MS Office and data entry accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy transport setting.

Responsibilities

• Providing general administrative support to the Transport and Logistics team
• Assisting with the day-to-day running of the transport office
• Answering telephone calls and responding to emails from drivers, customers and internal departments
• Allocating and recording delivery and collection information
• Updating transport systems and databases with accurate information
• Preparing and processing delivery notes, manifests and other transport documentation
• Monitoring driver paperwork, including PODs, timesheets and vehicle records
• Checking and processing driver timesheets and hours worked
• Liaising with drivers throughout their shifts to provide support and resolve queries
