Job summary

Brook Street Recruitment are partnering with a well-established logistics business in Bradford to recruit an experienced Transport Administrator. You will coordinate deliveries, collections, driver administration and customer communications across the UK and Europe in a busy transport operation.

The role requires strong organisational skills, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, with exposure to planning and operations support.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Transport Administrator.
  • Experience within the road freight, logistics or transport sector.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively under pressure.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
  • Professional, reliable and customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

  • Managing transport administration and daily operational paperwork.
  • Updating transport, trailer and fleet tracking spreadsheets.
  • Processing delivery documentation, PODs and collection notes.
  • Booking deliveries and collections via phone and email.
  • Liaising with customers regarding delivery schedules and delays.
  • Supporting drivers and processing transport documentation at the traffic window.
  • Communicating with UK and international drivers.
  • Assisting with second-run planning and transport scheduling.
  • Supporting planning activities during periods of holiday or absence.
  • Maintaining driver files, agency driver records and compliance documentation.
  • Reviewing vehicle defect reports and escalating maintenance requirements.
  • Processing freight and parcel consignments.
  • Providing operational support across warehouse and transport functions when required.
  • Producing transport reports and analysing operational data, including fuel usage.
  • Working closely with the Transport Manager to support continuous improvement initiatives.
