Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY UK LIMITED is seeking a Field Service Engineer (Electrical) to support the Transformers business across the UK. You will join a team of experienced engineers and technicians delivering installation, testing and commissioning of large power transformers and related control systems.

This highly mobile, field-based role requires extensive UK travel, overnight stays, and occasional weekend work to meet project delivery requirements, while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

Recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) qualification essential.
Proven experience as Electrician, Wireman, Electrical Installation Engineer or Electrical Field Service Engineer.
Experience with installation, termination and testing of control, instrumentation and power cabling.
Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

Install, route, glanding, dressing and termination of LV control, protection and power cabling for transformers.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Carry out electrical inspection, testing, fault finding and commissioning on transformer control systems.
Lead site activities, coordinating teams and subcontractors to meet safety and project schedules.
Maintain project documentation and commissioning checklists to support quality assurance.
