Job summary

Hitachi Energy seeks a Field Service Engineer (Electrical) to join our Transformers team, delivering electrical installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance on large power transformers across the UK. You will work with experienced engineers to ensure safe, high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction on-site at customer locations.

The role requires extensive travel, overnight stays, weekend work as needed, and a strong focus on health and safety.

Qualifications

Completed a recognised Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience.
NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or City & Guilds qualification desirable.
Experience as Electrician, Wireman, Electrical Installation Engineer or Electrical Field Service Engineer.

Responsibilities

Undertake electrical installation, wiring, testing and commissioning on transformers and associated equipment.
Lead site activities under the direction of the Project Manager with a focus on safety, quality and schedules.
Carry out inspection, fault finding and commissioning of transformer control and auxiliary systems.
Read electrical drawings, schematics and cabling schedules to ensure correct installations.
Maintain project documentation, service reports and commissioning checklists.
Develop relationships with customers and identify service opportunities.
