Job summary

Southwark Council is seeking a Transformation Communications Manager to lead residents-first change communications across a large organisation. The role focuses on shaping culture, delivering content and campaigns that explain complex transformation in a clear way, and guiding senior stakeholders through strategic communications.

You will collaborate with HR, OD, Change and Strategy colleagues to support behaviour change, leadership visibility and employee wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience on large, organisation-wide transformation programmes.
• Experience planning, delivering and evaluating transformation communications strategies.
• Experience engaging and influencing senior leaders.
• Experience producing content across digital channels and managing external suppliers/agencies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong content creation, storytelling and campaign management skills.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
• Collaborative and inclusive approach across teams and services.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver the transformation communications plan.
• Lead development of engaging content and campaigns.
• Use insight, feedback and evaluation to measure engagement and improve activity.
• Work with HR, OD, Change and Strategy to support behaviour change and leadership visibility.
• Provide strategic communications advice to senior stakeholders.
• Develop compelling narratives and storytelling to inspire change.
• Lead communication planning for key transformation milestones and programmes.
