Job summary

Capita is seeking an experienced trainer to mentor Royal Navy engineers at HMS Sultan, delivering training in Marine Control Systems and Diagnostics. You will assess coursework, update materials, and support learners while ensuring welfare and progression.

A Level 3 Technical Certificate and IT proficiency are required, with a role that respects security and health protocols. The position is full-time (37.5 hours/week) on site, offering pro rata compensation for term-time weeks and opportunities

Full-time role, 37.5 hours a week (Monday - Friday)

HMS Sultan

Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level.

What we're looking for

Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 Technical Certificate in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
• Be proficient in the use of IT (hardware/software) within the workplace
• Proven experience in Electrical and Electronic Engineering principles.

Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Qualification / DCTS Defence Train The Trainer Course or equivalent (successful completion)
• Previous instructional experience in a military or civilian engineering environment

This role is offered on a term time basis working 45 weeks per year, with non-working weeks taken 2 weeks at Christmas and Easter and 3 weeks in August. The salary will therefore be pro rata'd and calculated to include contractual annual leave entitlement and bank holidays.
