Job summary

Capita’s Selborne project in Gosport is seeking an Academic Trainer - Engineering to deliver NVQ Level 4/5 electrical engineering and Level 2/3 basics to groups of up to 24 trainees, with hands-on lab demonstrations. You will supervise trainee-led labs, invigilate examinations, mark assessments, and maintain training materials in collaboration with Training Design staff.

A Foundation Degree in Electrical Engineering (or HND/FdSc) or proven teaching/practical experience is required; desirable

Qualifications

• Must have at least a Foundation Degree in Electrical Engineering (or a related engineering discipline), or an HND/FdSc in Electrical Engineering or proven teaching/practical experience in Electrical Engineering

Job Description

What we’re looking for

• Must have at least a Foundation Degree in Electrical Engineering (or a related engineering discipline), or an HND/FdSc in Electrical Engineering or proven teaching/practical experience in Electrical Engineering

Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications

• Experience in the theory and practical use of Electrical Machines (DC Motors/Generators, AC Motors/Generators) and Three Phase AC systems
• Classroom experience in teaching technical subjects in an adult education environment, ideally with at least a Level 4 teaching qualification
• Experience of the Defence Systems Approach to Training (or equivalent)
