Job summary

A leading training provider in the UK is seeking a Training Delivery Instructor for Electrical roles. You will deliver training modules, conduct both theory and practical sessions in Electrical Engineering, and manage customer relationships. The ideal candidate has a minimum Level 3 Technical Certificate in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, as well as proven experience in the field. This impactful role involves a blend of instructional skills and technical expertise, essential for developing the next generation of naval technicians.

Responsibilities

• Deliver training modules within Electrical Marine Engineering to the Royal Navy.
• Conduct both theory and practical training in Electrical Engineering.
• Maintain relationships with the customer and training area.
• Assisting in maintaining and updating training documentation and assess student course work to provide feedback on performance.
• Utilising best practice across the establishment to inform and direct quality and improvement activities across RN training.
• Responsible for the duty of care and progression of training during delivery phase.

Full-time role, 37.5 hours a week on a term time only basis.
Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level.
Location: HMS Sultan, Portsmouth.

What you'll be doing

• Delivering training modules within Electrical Marine Engineering to the Royal Navy.
• Conducting both theory and practical training in Electrical Engineering.
• Ensuring outstanding relationships with the customer and within Marine Engineering Electrical training area.
• Assisting in maintaining and updating training documentation and assess student course work to provide feedback on performance.
• Utilising best practice across the establishment to inform and direct quality and improvement activities across RN training.
• Responsible for the duty of care and progression of training during delivery phase.

What we're looking for

Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 Technical Certificate in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience within Electrical/Engineering.
• Be proficient in the use of IT (hardware/software) within the workplace.
• Competent Electrical practical/hand skills.

Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications

• Previous instructional experience in a military or civilian engineering environment.
• Level 4 Teaching Qualification / DTC Defence Trainer Course or equivalent.

This role is offered on a term time basis working 45 weeks per year, with non‑working weeks taken 2 weeks at Christmas and Easter and 3 weeks in August. The salary therefore will be pro‑rata and calculated to include contractual annual leave entitlement and bank holidays.
