Job summary

Flowtec Group is seeking a Training & Application Engineer based in Stafford, United Kingdom, with up to 50% international travel. The role combines practical engineering, customer support and technical training across protection testing technology.

You will provide expert advice, remote and on-site troubleshooting, and contribute to product development by sharing real-world insights from customer applications.

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent graduate qualification in electrical engineering or electronics.
• Several years’ experience in power systems, particularly substation protection equipment.
• Customer support experience and enthusiasm for explaining technical concepts clearly.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, with a proactive approach to solving problems.
• A collaborative, service-focused approach to customers and colleagues.
• Willingness to travel internationally, accounting for up to 50% of the role.

Responsibilities

• Providing technical consultation and application support for protection testing and diagnostic equipment.
• Troubleshooting technical issues remotely and on site, supporting customers and sales colleagues.
• Developing and delivering classroom training, practical field sessions and webinars.
• Working with power system assets across generation, transmission and distribution.
• Contributing customer feedback and technical insights to product development and application strategy.
• Preparing application notes, technical papers and presentations for seminars and conferences.
