Job summary

Siemens AG in the UK Hebburn office is seeking an Applications Engineer to join our power systems and protection team. You’ll design, configure and test protection and control solutions for critical infrastructure, working with SIPROTEC and other relays while engaging customers.

Travel to customer sites across the UK and Ireland is possible, with flexible hours and a strong focus on learning and development within a supportive engineering community.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Power Engineering or related field.
• Experience with protection relays and IEC 61850.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in power systems, substations or energy infrastructure.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, test and commission protection and control solutions for critical power infrastructure.
• Develop protection schemes and support FAT, SAT and secondary injection testing activities.
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with sales, tendering and project teams on bids, proposals and customer presentations.
• Support the development and application of new technologies and innovative protection solutions.
• Build strong relationships with customers and colleagues while developing technical knowledge.
• Ensure compliance by handling type registrations and ENA assessments for transmission and distribution operators.
