Ernest Gordon Recruitment are seeking a Substation Engineer (Protection/Training) in Stafford. The role offers £50,000 - £70,000 plus extensive training, benefits, flexible working, a company vehicle and up to 50% international travel.

The successful candidate will join an internationally recognised company specialising in protection testing and diagnostic equipment, to become the go-to trainer for their courses and provide technical support across power generation, transmission and distribution

Qualifications

• Experience in power systems and substation protection.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 50%.
• Basic understanding of IEC 61850.

Responsibilities

• Provide product consultation, training and technical support on protection testing and diagnostic equipment.
• Develop and deliver product training through classroom sessions, field-based training and webinars.

Are you a Substation Engineer with experience in power systems and substation protection looking to join an internationally recognised company specialising in advanced protection testing and diagnostic equipment where you will be trained up to be the go to technical trainer for their courses?

This role would suit a Substation Engineer with several years of experience in power systems, particularly substation protection, looking to develop their career within a customer-facing technical role involving training, technical support, product development and international travel.

The role:

• Full training to become a trainer/Applications Engineer
• Provide product consultation, training and technical support on protection testing and diagnostic equipment
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide on-site customer support relating to applications
• Develop and deliver product training through classroom sessions, field-based training and webinars
• Provide input into new products, product strategies, development and application requirements
• Develop application notes and technical papers and present at relevant seminars and conferences

The person:

• Substation Engineer or similar
• Several years of experience within power systems, particularly substation protection
• Basic understanding of IEC 61850
• Flexible and willing to travel internationally, with up to 50% travel
