Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is assisting in finding an Applications Engineer for a Stafford-based role focused on protection testing and IEC 61850 knowledge. The successful candidate will work with cutting-edge diagnostic equipment, provide training and on-site technical support, and travel internationally up to 50% to support customers across power generation, transmission and distribution sectors.

The ideal candidate has several years' experience in power systems, particularly substation

Qualifications

Several years of experience in power systems, with substation protection focus.
Basic understanding of IEC 61850 and protection testing equipment.
Willingness to travel internationally up to 50%.

Responsibilities

Provide product consultation, training and technical support on protection testing and diagnostic equipment.
Troubleshoot technical issues and provide on-site customer support relating to applications.
Develop and deliver product training through classroom sessions, field-based training and webinars.
Provide input into new products, product strategies, development and application requirements.
Develop application notes and technical papers and present at relevant seminars and conferences.
