Job summary

Barking & Dagenham College is seeking a Trainer Coach-Electrical to join the Apprenticeships team on a full-time basis (36 hours per week). You will assess Level 3 Electrical Installation apprentices, support curriculum design, and coach learners to achieve positive End Point Assessments.

The role requires workplace visits, strong IT and admin skills, and driving to sites. Salary is £39,319–£41,521 with London Weighting, plus generous benefits and CPD opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification is required.
• Assessors award, Level 3 Electrical Installations qualifications are required.
• Level 2 English and Maths is required.
• Experience with a training provider teaching/assessing apprentices.
• Teaching qualification is desirable.
• Must hold a Driving Licence to visit Apprentices on site.
• Knowledge of Level 3 Electrical Installation and Maintenance apprenticeship.
• Ability to develop and maintain employer relations and identify opportunities.
• Electrical industry experience in the relevant subject area.
• Experience of training/coaching in the subject area.
• Good IT and administrative skills with tracking learner progress.

Responsibilities

• Assess Level 3 Electrical Installation apprentices in workplaces and conduct progress reviews.
• Provide portfolio workshops on campus and support curriculum design for apprenticeship standards.
• Develop planning and teaching resources including course outlines and lesson plans.
• Coach apprentices in line with apprenticeship standards and core skills.
• Visit and support apprentices in workplaces, monitoring progress and completing required reports.

Job description

The Apprenticeship Trainer Coach is part of the training and delivery team and is responsible for delivery, updating and development of apprenticeship standards and related training, monitoring and supporting apprentices to complete their training with positive outcomes. You will:

• Assessing Level 3 Electrical Installation apprentices in their workplaces, carrying out progress reviews, and portfolio workshops on campus.
• Support the curriculum design for relevant apprenticeship standards and work related training within the curriculum area.
• Support the development of the relevant planning and teaching resources including course outline; scheme of work; lesson plans; learning resources including on line
• Coach apprentices in line with the apprenticeships standards, core skills and work related training.
• Visit and actively support apprentices within the workplace supporting their progress.
• Complete and maintain all apprenticeships reports, assessment forms, and other relevant documentation, as required.

What We're Looking For The Apprenticeship Trainer Coach-Electrical is responsible for supporting apprentices to complete their training with positive outcomes. This role includes visiting apprentices and employers in their workplaces, carrying out workplace observations, progress reviews, onboarding and preparing learners for their End Point Assessment.

• It is desirable that the successful candidate will hold a Teaching qualification.

• Ability to develop and maintain effective employer relations and identify opportunities for new and repeat business.
• Electrical industry experience and expertise in the relevant subject area .
• Experience of training/coaching in the relevant subject area.
• Good IT and administrative skills and be able to keep accurate tracking records of learners' progress.
