Job description

Fulbridge Social Care is recruiting both experienced and Trainee Youth Workers to join our casual team. The role involves working in children’s residential homes and Independent Living settings. We seek flexible, reliable, and interactive individuals interested in a specialist environment where full training and qualifications, including Team Teach, Child Protection, Working with Self Harm, and the Diploma 3 for Children and Young People, are provided to suitable candidates.

The position involves providing security, guidance, interaction, and support to young people with challenging behavior and complex needs, aiming to create an environment that supports their intellectual, spiritual, social, and emotional development.

You will work with young people aged 11 to 18, many of whom are in the care system for various reasons and have diverse disorders, behaviors, and needs. Candidates should have the confidence, patience, and skills to work effectively with these young people and positively impact their lives.

Responsibilities include supporting young people throughout the day with tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, education, and shopping. You will also interact with professionals like Social Workers, Probation Officers, and Police Officers, and support young people in environments such as classrooms, courts, and police stations.

A valid driving license is essential, as you will be required to drive the unit car and transport young people to destinations like family contacts, school, and social activities.

Applicants must complete an enhanced DBS check with Fulbridge Social Care and pass our induction assessment before placements are offered.

Main duties and responsibilities:
  1. Build strong professional relationships with service users and staff
  2. Maintain a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for young people and staff
  3. Keep all communication and information systems up to date
  4. Participate actively in meetings
  5. Support young people in managing their behavior using approved skills
  6. Promote equality and acknowledge individual differences
  7. Protect service users from abuse from staff, visitors, or other service users
  8. Write accurate reports and maintain records for monitoring purposes
  9. Attend all training sessions and achieve relevant qualifications
  10. Attend work reliably and punctually following a set shift pattern
  11. Stay updated with procedures and policy changes
  12. Ensure health and safety of yourself and others
  13. Undertake any additional relevant duties
