Job description

Fulbridge Social Care is recruiting both experienced and non-experienced Residential Youth Workers to join our casual team. The role involves working in children’s residential homes and Independent Living settings. We are seeking flexible, reliable, and interactive individuals who want to work in a specialist environment where full training and qualifications are provided to the right candidates.

The position involves providing security, guidance, interaction, and support to young people with challenging behaviors and complex needs within residential or independent living environments. The goal is to create an environment that caters to the young person's intellectual, spiritual, social, and emotional needs.

You will work with young people aged 11 to 18 who have been placed into the care system for various reasons, with a range of disorders, behaviors, and needs. Therefore, candidates should have the confidence, patience, and skill set to work effectively with these young people and positively impact their lives.

Responsibilities include supporting young people throughout the day with tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, education, and shopping. You will also interact with professionals like Social Workers, Probation Officers, and Police Officers, and support young people in environments such as classrooms, courts, and police stations.

A valid driving license is essential, as you will be required to drive the unit car and transport young people to destinations like family contacts, school, and social activities.

Applicants must complete an enhanced DBS check with Fulbridge Social Care and successfully finish one of our induction programs before placements are offered.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  1. Build strong professional relationships with service users and staff
  2. Maintain a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for young people and staff
  3. Keep up to date with communication and information systems
  4. Participate actively in meetings
  5. Support young people in managing their behavior using approved skills
  6. Promote equality and acknowledge individual differences
  7. Protect service users from abuse from staff, visitors, or other service users
  8. Write accurate reports and maintain records for monitoring
  9. Attend all required training and achieve relevant qualifications
  10. Attend work reliably and punctually, following shift patterns
  11. Stay updated on procedures and policy changes
  12. Ensure health and safety for yourself and others
  13. Perform additional relevant duties as required
