Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a Trainee Teacher to support autistic students in a SEN setting. You will work 121 with learners, delivering planned activities and helping implement a personalised curriculum.

The role is based in a school with excellent facilities, offering on-site parking and meals. A path to becoming a qualified tutor is provided, with ongoing professional development and recognition within a supportive team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Providing assistance to the teacher as per planning.
• Working 1:1 with students.
• Running group or individual activities planned by the teacher.
• Assisting learners to complete planned work across curriculum areas.
• Supporting learners' wellbeing within school routines.
• Monitoring and evaluating progress under teacher guidance.
• Applying management strategies to create a purposeful learning environment.

A team of caring, charismatic SEN workers are looking for an enthusiastic Trainee Teacher to join their team. This school has some amazing facilities that you are able to use alongside the students to help them with their development! You will be working 121 with Autistic students and helping to implement a personalised curriculum.

This setting supports primary and secondary aged pupils with Autism and associated needs. The setting is based on acres of land and has incredible resources including a forest school site. This school is recognised for its calm, purposeful atmosphere where every pupil is supported to succeed. Clear routines and gentle guidance help pupils feel secure. Pupils trust the school, processes set in place and the staff who support them and as a result of this trust pupils grow in confidence and independence.

Your responsibilities will include:

• -Providing assistance to the teacher defined according to weekly/daily/seasonal planning
• -Working 1:1 with students
• -Providing group and/or individual activities, planned by the teacher
• -Working individually with learners/students to develop work.
• -Supporting the general well being of learners within the structure of the school
• -Monitoring and evaluating students learning under the guidance of the teacher
• -Assisting teachers in the use of relevant management strategies to ensure a purposeful environment for teaching and learning to take place
• -Supporting all learners in their planned structured work in all curriculum areas

Key skills and experience needed:

• -The ability to work with learners that have various SEN needs
• -A willingness to learn and build relationships with learners
• -Confidence to support the lead in groups, in different educational subjects
• -The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team
• -Flexibility in their approach to education
• -Experience working in SEND settings is desirable but not essential
• -Right to work in the UK
• -GCSE Maths and English
