Job summary

Proactive Global is hiring for a Trainee SMT Operator for a leading electronics manufacturer based in Windsor, SL4. This permanent role offers full-time hours and a structured training program on SMT machines.

Responsibilities

• Operate SMT machinery to assemble PCB assemblies.
• Monitor process quality using inspection equipment.
• Read machine error messages and troubleshoot placement and printing.
• Hand place SMT parts accurately and ensure correct polarity.
• Kit and de-kit SMT placements machines and set up stencil printers.
• Document run times, hand fits, and deviations.
• Read diagrams and Bills of Materials; maintain housekeeping.

Trainee SMT Operator

Permanent Position

Proactive Global is hiring for Trainee SMT Operator for a leading manufacturing company based in Windsor, SL4. We are looking for experienced Technician to work within a busy electronics manufacturer and willing to get trained on SMT Machines.

Duration: Full time is 37 hours per week

Mon to Thurs 07:30 to 16:00 and Fri 07:30 to 12:30

Pay Rate: £26,250 pa

Location: Windsor, SL4

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Operate computer-controlled surface mount assembly machinery to successfully assemble surface mount technology printed circuit assemblies
• Continually monitor the process to ensure perfect quality using inspection equipment
• Ability to read machine error messages and correct placement & printing problems
• Confident to hand place SMT parts accurately onto circuit assemblies, ensuring correct polarity of devices
• Kit and de-kit SMT placements machines and set up printing programs on automatic stencil printers
• Document aspects of the Work Order including run times, hand fits, and process deviations
• Read and interpret Drawings, Diagrams and Bills of Materials
• Maintain high housekeeping standards

Candidate Requirement:

• Demonstrate experience in Surface Mount processes, achieving high levels of output & quality in equal measure
• Handling small electronic components down to 0201 size.

• Setting up feeders & kits
• Using an array of inspection equipment
