Medstrom Ltd. is seeking a Trainee Service Technician / Delivery Driver to serve Oxford and surrounding areas from the Thame service location. After training, you will deliver and set up Medstrom products in clinical environments, assist with maintenance, and support customers with product demonstrations.

Trainee Service Technician/Delivery Driver (lates)

We are looking for a dedicated Trainee Service Technician / Delivery Driver to join us, working Monday to Friday across Oxford and the surrounding areas, feeding from our Thame service location.

The Role:

As a Trainee Service Technician, you will ensure an effective and timely delivery and maintenance service to our customers. After training, this will include the delivery and set up of products for patients within agreed delivery times, repair and proactive maintenance of products and support at the delivery stage to customers in various clinical environments. This role follows our Career Pathway, with clearly defined training, experience, and knowledge to enable you to progress your career with Medstrom.

Main responsibilities of the role:

• – Deliver clean, ready-to-use products to and around customer sites
• – Collect products after use and return them to the service location
• – Full cleaning and decontamination of the beds and mattresses
• – Disinfect, function check, repair, and electrical safety test products – full training will be given
• – Complete records of testing, delivery and collection within our computerised system
• – Maintain available product stock and spare parts inventory
• – Complete product modifications when required
• – Provide product demonstrations and basic training to staff
• – Maintain a clean and tidy work environment

Hours of work: 37.5 per week, working Monday to Friday, 10.30am – 7.30pm.

You will also be required to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota (once trained) to support the team and the customers. This is subject to an on-call payment and additional payment for hours worked.

Experience Needed:

To join us as a Trainee Service Technician / Delivery Driver, ideally you will need to have or be willing to develop the following skills:

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

• Mechanical or electrical background desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided
• Experience of working within a healthcare setting is desirable
• Full UK Driving licence required (we use long wheelbase vans, but training and support to build confidence in manoeuvring of these vehicles will be provided where required)

Personal Requirements:

• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work under own initiative and follow procedures to achieve deadlines
• Basic PC skills to include email and MS Office
• DBS Checked ( or the willingness to complete one)

Please note, this role will involve manual handling – lifting, carrying, and loading Medstrom products into the van.
