Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a motivated Trainee SEN Teacher to work across SEN schools and specialist provisions in Northamptonshire. You will gain hands-on experience, develop teaching skills and explore various SEN environments through short-term and longer-term placements.

Ideal candidates have a passion for supporting children with additional needs, strong communication skills and a proactive approach. Previous experience in education or child-focused roles is beneficial.

Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee SEN Teacher to work across a variety of schools and specialist settings throughout Northamptonshire. The Role

• Work across a range of SEN schools and specialist provisions throughout Northamptonshire, depending on school requirements and your experience.
• Support pupils with a variety of additional needs, including autism, SEMH, learning difficulties and complex needs.
• Help plan and deliver engaging, accessible learning activities tailored to pupils' individual needs.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, encouraging confidence, independence and engagement with learning.
• Work alongside experienced teachers, teaching assistants and wider school teams to support pupils' development.
• Gain experience through a mixture of short‑term supply, longer‑term placements and potential ongoing opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate

• A genuine passion for working with children and young people with additional needs.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• A patient, adaptable and proactive approach to supporting learning and behaviour.
• The confidence to work in different school environments and adapt to individual pupils' needs.
• Previous experience in education, childcare, coaching, mentoring, youth work or support work would be beneficial.
• A willingness to learn, develop new skills and build a career within SEN education.
