Job description

As a Trainee Project Manager, you will work closely with senior colleagues to support the full lifecycle of construction projects. You'll assist with contract administration, project programmes, client communication, consultant coordination, and various aspects of project delivery. This role gives you the opportunity to build core project management capabilities, gain confidence in a professional setting, and work towards eventually managing your own sections of work or smaller projects as your skills develop.

A brand new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and driven Trainee Project Manager to join a leading construction consultancy in Nottingham. This role offers exceptional exposure to a wide range of construction projects and provides valuable experience across both pre- and post-contract stages.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting senior project managers with day-to-day project tasks
  • Supporting the development and understanding of client briefs
  • Taking part in project and design meetings, and preparing minutes
  • Helping prepare and update project programmes and documentation
  • Coordinating information between clients, contractors, and consultants
  • Supporting client liaison and assisting in managing key deliverables
  • Assisting with tender documentation, bids, and procurement activities
  • Contributing to progress reports for clients and internal teams
  • Supporting lessons-learnt reviews and broader business activities
  • Maintaining a positive, proactive, and professional approach

This is an ideal position for someone at the beginning of their project management career who is keen to learn, develop technical and managerial skills, and progress towards taking on greater responsibility within a supportive consultancy environment.
