Job summary

VolkerLaser, part of VolkerWessels UK, is seeking a Trainee Operative to start ASAP. The role offers full-time work at 45 hours per week and an apprenticeship path toward a Level 2 in Highways Maintenance under CITB partnership.

You'll train and work on real site activities, gaining practical skills while studying, with no prior construction experience required and full training provided. This is a fantastic entry point into a growing project team across the UK.

Qualifications

• Interest in construction or outdoors.
• Positive attitude, good timekeeping and a strong focus on safety.
• Commitment to attending and completing CITB training as scheduled.
• Willingness to obtain a CSCS card if you don't already have one.
• Ability to travel to depot and site locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside experienced operatives to support project activities.
• Learn how to carry out tasks safely and to the required standard.
• Use tools, plant and equipment safely with training and authorisation.
• Attend CITB training blocks and apply what you learn on site.
• Follow health, safety, wellbeing and environmental procedures.
• Keep work areas tidy and safe.
• Report hazards, near misses or unsafe conditions.
• Represent VolkerLaser professionally on site.
