Job summary
VolkerLaser, part of VolkerWessels UK, is actively seeking a Trainee Operative to join our project teams across the UK. This full-time role provides real on-the-job learning toward a nationally recognised Level 2 apprenticeship in Highways Maintenance, delivered in partnership with the CITB Construction College.
No prior construction experience is required; you will receive full training and support, with paid time for study.
Qualifications
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in English and Maths.
- Willingness to attend CITB training and complete Level 2 apprenticeship.
- Full UK driving licence required.
- Willingness to travel and stay away from home as required.
Responsibilities
- Support project activities alongside experienced operatives.
- Learn to perform tasks safely and to required standards.
- Operate tools, plant and equipment with training and authorisation.
- Attend CITB training blocks and apply learnings on site.
- Follow health, safety, wellbeing and environmental procedures.
- Keep work areas tidy and safe.
- Report hazards, near misses or unsafe conditions.
- Represent VolkerLaser professionally on site.
