Job summary

VolkerLaser offers a Trainee Operative role across UK project teams, providing hands-on learning toward a nationally recognised Level 2 apprenticeship in Highways Maintenance through the CITB Construction College.

No prior construction experience is required; the company provides full training and support, including paid time for study and on-site practice, with a full-time 45-hour week.

Qualifications

• Interest in construction or outdoor work
• Positive attitude, good timekeeping and safety focus
• Commitment to attending and completing CITB training
• Willingness to obtain CSCS card
• Ability to travel to depot and site locations; role based on site and may not be close to home
• Willingness to work towards UK driving licence during apprenticeship

Responsibilities

• Working alongside experienced operatives to support project activities
• Learning how to carry out tasks safely and to the required standard
• Using tools, plant and equipment safely (with training and authorisation)
• Attending CITB training blocks and applying what you learn back on site
• Following health, safety, wellbeing and environmental procedures
• Keeping work areas tidy and safe
• Reporting hazards, near misses or unsafe conditions
• Representing VolkerLaser professionally on site
