Job summary

Optima UK Inc Ltd in Leicester is seeking a Trainee Metal Operative to join our team. You will work alongside experienced craftsmen to learn the practical skills required to manufacture and finish metal components for high-end interiors, with full on-the-job training provided.

Successful candidates will develop specialist metalworking skills and gain hands-on experience across measuring, cutting, shaping and finishing processes in a supportive, long-established manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; full training provided.
• Interest in manufacturing and practical work.
• Good attention to detail and ability to work accurately.

Responsibilities

• Learn and assist with manufacturing, machining and finishing processes.
• Prepare materials accurately for production.
• Measure and mark materials using drawings and specifications.
• Learn to safely operate machinery, tools and equipment.
• Follow technical drawings, measurements and instructions.
• Carry out quality checks to ensure work meets required standards.
• Assist with preparing machinery, tools and materials.
• Maintain tools, machinery and the work area in a clean and safe condition.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures.
• Work as part of a skilled manufacturing team to meet production requirements.

Successful candidates will receive full training and will have the opportunity to develop specialist skills in Metal Work depending on their interests and suitability.

About the Role

As a Trainee Metal Operative, you will work alongside experienced craftsmen and learn the practical skills required to manufacture and finish high-quality bespoke furniture, interiors and joinery.

Training may include:

Metal Work - learning to measure, cut, shape, drill, fabricate and finish metal components using hand tools, power tools and specialist machinery.You will receive structured on-the-job training while developing your practical, technical and manufacturing skills.
