Bamford Contract Services are recruiting for a reliable and hardworking Metal Working Operative to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Middleton, Manchester. Our client operates a modern manufacturing facility specialising in high-quality, high-volume precision sheet metal fabrication.

Their services include CNC punching, laser cutting, bending, forming, welding, powder coating, painting, machining, fabrication and assembly.

Qualifications

• Carrying out general labouring duties within a busy manufacturing environment.
• Using hand tools effectively.
• Deburring and finishing metal components.
• Assisting engineers and production staff.
• Moving and handling materials.
• Supporting fabrication and assembly operations.
• Loading, unloading and moving materials around the site.
• Operating a counterbalance FLT where required.
• Maintaining a clean and organised working area.
• Following all company health and safety procedures.

Pay Rate: £13.74 per hour
Hours: 38-44 hours per week
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x after 38 hours
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 7:40am - 4:30pm
Friday: 7:40am - 12:20pm

Plenty of overtime is available.

Required Expereience and Key Responsibilities

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, engineering or industrial enviroment
• Experience using hand tools
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking
• Good attention to detail
• Able to work effectively as part of a team
• Willing to undertake overtime when required

Desirable but not essential:

• Counterbalance FLT experience/licence
