Job summary

The Best Connection in Wolverhampton is seeking a Metalwork & Production Operative to join a busy manufacturing facility on an ongoing basis. You will work across metalwork and final assembly operations, using AMADA press brakes, CNC punch, welding, powder coating, and related processes to support production outputs.

You should have experience in a manufacturing setting with metalwork and be able to read production drawings; there is a stable team environment, day hours Mon-Thu 07:00-16:45, and

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience with metalwork processes.
• Experience operating AMADA Press Brake and/or Finn Power machines.
• Experience as Press Brake Operator, CNC Punch Operator, Powder Coater or Welder.
• TIG welding experience; MIG welding beneficial.

Metalwork & Production Operative

The Best Connection is currently recruiting for a Metalwork & Production Operative to join our client's busy manufacturing facility in Wolverhampton.

This is an ongoing position offering £13.45 per hour, working Monday to Thursday, 07:00-16:45.

The Role

As part of the production team, you will be involved in a variety of metalwork and final assembly operations, supporting the manufacture of products.

The role offers plenty of variety, with the successful candidate expected to be flexible and willing to move between different workstations across the factory as required.

Duties may include:

• Operating metalwork machinery
• AMADA Press Brake operation
• CNC Punch operation
• Grinding and linishing
• Studding
• Paint preparation
• Powder coating
• TIG and MIG welding
• Final assembly of metalwork products
• Working from production drawings
• Maintaining required production output and quality standards
• Supporting other areas of production when required
• Working as part of a small, close-knit production team

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working within a manufacturing or production environment
• Experience with metalwork processes

They will also have experience in one or more of the following.

• Experience operating an AMADA Press Brake and/or Finn Power machine
• Experience as a Press Brake Operator, CNC Punch Operator, Powder Coater or Welder
• TIG welding experience, with some MIG welding beneficial.

Candidates will also require.

• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail
• Ability to read and follow production drawings
• A reliable and flexible approach to work
• A positive "can-do" attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work effectively as part of a small team
• A stable employment history

Pay & Hours

Pay: £13.45 per hour

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 07:00-16:45
