yolk recruitment is seeking a Trainee Maintenance Engineer (Days) in Carmarthen. Starting salary £27,000–£30,000 with training and development, and a clear path to a qualified maintenance engineer role.

You will join a growing materials processing business, work with experienced engineers, and receive full training while developing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical skills in a busy plant environment.

Trainee Maintenance Engineer - Days

What You’ll Do

Join a growing materials processing business and begin your engineering career within a busy, hands-on environment. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll receive full training while developing the skills needed to become a fully qualified Maintenance Engineer.

• Assist with routine inspections across plant and workshop areas
• Support planned preventative maintenance activities on a range of processing equipment
• Learn how to diagnose faults and assist with breakdown repairs
• Gain hands-on experience working on conveyors, screening equipment, and other plant machinery
• Help maintain excellent housekeeping and safety standards across site
• Work from maintenance schedules and engineering job sheets
• Learn and follow permit systems, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
• Develop your understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems
• Work closely with experienced engineers who will mentor and support your development

What You’ll Bring
