Job summary

yolk recruitment is seeking a Trainee Maintenance Engineer (Days) in Carmarthen. Starting salary £27,000–£30,000 with training and development, and a clear path to a qualified maintenance engineer role.

You will join a growing materials processing business, work with experienced engineers, and receive full training while developing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical skills in a busy plant environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant engineering qualification, apprenticeship or college studies.
• Willingness to learn and a practical mindset.
• Good problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to work.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine inspections across plant and workshop areas.
• Support planned preventative maintenance on processing equipment.
• Learn to diagnose faults and assist with breakdown repairs.
• Gain hands-on experience with conveyors, screening equipment and machinery.
• Follow maintenance schedules and safety procedures.
