Yolk Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a forward‑looking manufacturing site in Monmouth. You will identify failure modes, diagnose breakdowns and carry out preventive maintenance to keep plant running safely and efficiently on a 12‑hour day shift.

The role requires an apprenticeship, NVQ 3 or equivalent, and significant hands‑on experience with fabrication, welding and machining. A proactive, mentor‑like attitude and the ability to report clearly are essential.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer role within manufacturing.
• Demonstrates drive, enthusiasm and the ability to motivate others.
• Ability to work under pressure and report accurately and timely.
• Experience with fabrication, welding and machining is preferable.

Responsabilités

• Identify failure modes of plant equipment and return equipment to operation safely and timely.
• Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns.
• Liaise with day engineering teams to resolve long-term issues.
• Locate spare parts using the maintenance management system and manage returns.
• Identify failure modes of electrical equipment and advise on prevention.
• Record maintenance work in notifications and feedback on schedules.
• Perform preventive maintenance to align with planned schedules.
