FTV Proclad (U.K.) Ltd. is seeking a Trainee Machine Operator (Pipe Turner and Horizontal Borer) in Scotland. This full-time role involves loading pipes, setting up and operating lathe/HBM machines, and ensuring parts meet drawings and specs.

The successful candidate will read engineering drawings, verify dimensions, and adhere to safety practices while collaborating with engineers to optimise production. A strong eye for detail and willingness to learn are essential.

• Proficiency in operating manual lathes and Horizontal Borer, understanding machining principles.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload pipes into machines.
• Set up and operate pipe lathe and HBM machines.
• Machine bores and weld prep angles of pipe to drawings or specifications.
• Dimensional verification on machine and machined surfaces.
• De-rag machined surfaces on machine.
• Interpret work orders and drawings to determine production specs.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a clean workspace.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimise processes.
• Maintain equipment and report maintenance or repair needs.

Job Title: Trainee Machine Operator (Pipe Turner and Horizontal Borer)

Hours of Work: Full-time: 37.5 hours on shifts(some flexibility required)

An individual who has an eye for detail and takes pride in producing a quality product will fit this role perfectly. A competitive wage will be paid. To assist in the production of components to customer specifications, an individual will need to:

• Load and unload pipes into machines.
