Job summary

Syntech Recruitment Ltd, on behalf of a respected UK aerospace and defence manufacturer, is seeking a Pipes Assembly Operative to manufacture and assemble precision pipework for aerospace products. You will read engineering drawings, set up pipe bending machinery, and ensure tight tolerances with meticulous inspection throughout production.

The role offers a 35,500£ starting salary, Friday early finish, overtime rates, a pension scheme, healthcare and life assurance, plus a bonus and generous

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing and assembling precision pipework for aerospace applications.
• Setting and operating pipe bending machinery.
• Hand-forming and fitting pipes using blocks and measuring equipment.
• Cutting pipes using electric saws and related equipment.
• Working from engineering drawings and build instructions.
• Ensuring pipework meets tight dimensional tolerances and quality checks.

Job description

Start Date: ASAP (notice periods considered)

This role would suit candidates with experience in pipe assembly, pipe bending, tube manipulation, mechanical assembly, fabrication or general manufacturing engineering who are confident working from engineering drawings and producing precision components to tight tolerances. Syntech Recruitment is working exclusively with a highly respected UK aerospace and defence manufacturer, known for producing safety-critical, life-saving equipment. As a Pipes Assembly Operative, you'll play a key role in manufacturing and assembling precision pipework used within world-leading aerospace products where quality and accuracy are critical.

Working Hours Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm Friday: 8:00am – 12:00pm Overtime available daily at 1.5x basic rate (£27.50ph)

Pipes Assembly Operative – Responsibilities

• Manufacturing and assembling precision pipework for aerospace applications


• Setting and operating specialist pipe bending machinery


• Hand-forming and fitting pipes using form blocks and measuring equipment


• Cutting pipes using electric saws and associated equipment


• Working from engineering drawings, specifications and build instructions


• Forming and adjusting pipework to precise dimensional tolerances


• Using measuring equipment including verniers and calipers to verify qualityCarrying out self-inspection throughout the manufacturing process

Pipes Assembly Operative – Requirements

• Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment


• Experience in mechanical assembly, pipe assembly, pipe bending, fabrication or similar engineering roles


• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings


• Experience using engineering hand tools including torque wrenches


• Competent using inspection equipment such as verniers and calipers


• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

All candidates will be required to complete baseline security vetting (BPSS) prior to employment commencing.
