Job summary

South Norfolk and Broadland Councils are offering an opportunity to train as a Heavy Good Vehicle Driver with fully funded training. The role starts in waste collection and progresses to HGV driving once the CPC and DVLA tests are completed, under a learning contract and with supervisor responsibilities.

You will be part of the Operations Team, developing skills for safe vehicle operation, teamwork and customer service, with potential for career progression within the councils.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Category B driving licence for 2 years or more.
• Willing to study and complete HGV CPC modules 2 and 4.
• Be able to meet medical and eyesight requirements per DVLA.

Responsibilities

• Collect and dispose of waste following Council-approved methods.
• Work as part of a crew to deliver high-quality services.
• Comply with health and safety standards to ensure waste collection is safe.
