Job summary

South Norfolk and Broadland Council is offering a funded training opportunity to become a fully qualified Heavy Goods Vehicle Driver. The role starts with waste collection duties while you work towards the HGV Licence and CPC, followed by full driver training and the ability to supervise a crew.

You must hold a Category B licence and meet DVLA medical and eyesight requirements; provisional HGV licence application and tests are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a full (Category B) driving licence with 2+ years driving experience preferred.
• Apply for provisional HGV licence and pass DVLA HGV Theory and Hazard Perception tests.
• Meet DVLA medical and eyesight requirements during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Collect and dispose of waste following Council-approved methods.
• Work as part of a team to deliver high-quality services.
• Comply with health and safety standards to ensure safe waste collection.
