Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals Limited is seeking a motivated Trainee HGV Driver to join our team in the UK. You will learn to plan and execute timely collections and deliveries from customer sites while delivering dependable service.

As a trainee, you will gain specialised knowledge to operate commercial vehicles, complete Forklift and Hiab license training, and develop a proactive safety mindset. No heavy prior experience required; commitment to safety and customer satisfaction is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of driving license category B – with no more than 6 points.
• Previous driving experience.
• Proactive approach to training and feedback.
• Proactive safety of company vehicles and other drivers.
• Polite manner when visiting customer premises.
• Good geographical knowledge and industry experience (desirable).
• Knowledge of IT systems (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Gain knowledge to operate commercial vehicles for transporting goods.
• Complete training for a Forklift and Hiab license.
• Ensure vehicle is safe and roadworthy before journeys and load security.
• Visit customer locations and communicate with internal and external customers.
• Adhere to legal and company safety requirements, alongside the working time directive at all times.

About The Role

Are you ready to be a part of our rapidly developing business. We are looking for a talented Trainee HGV Driver to join our team to ensure timely collection and deliveries from customer sites whilst consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

What will you be doing?

• Working towards gaining specialised knowledge and skills to operate commercial vehicles for the transportation of goods
• Complete training for a Forklift and Hiab license
• Ensuring the vehicle is safe and roadworthy before commencing any journey, as well as the safe loading, unloading and security of the vehicle load
• Visiting customer locations, communicating with both internal and external customers
• Ensuring that the legal and company safety requirements, alongside the working time directive regulations are adhered to at all time
